Surprise in the Laundry

Laundry happens to be my LEAST favorite chore, even when things go smoothly.  I have experienced many, many, grumpy days because of laundry related incidents involving such items as:  paper, crayons, markers, ink, bleach, game pieces, toys, etc.  I have also experienced my washing machine breaking down right after a week-long camping trip.
Today as I was removing clothes from the washer to put into the dryer, I noticed hundreds of small gel blobs spilling out of the clothes.  I could not imagine what had happened.  Finally, I discovered that a pull-up had been stuck down inside the leg of my three-year-old's pajamas.  The pull-up had become full of water during the wash and then broke into hundreds of tiny pieces during the spin cycle.  I had to shake all of the clothes out and rewash them.
AND... just to add to the GRUMP, while I was preoccupied by the surprise in the laundry, my 17 month old created artwork with a permanent marker on his shirt, the piano, the wall, the coffee table, the hallway mirror, and my twelve-year-old's bed.
